Embrace is a local crisis pregnancy care center. The goal of the center is to help mothers who are expecting unexpectedly both with their physical needs and spiritual needs. Many mothers come into the Embrace wanting an abortion and we try to give them other alternatives such as adoption, raising the child with local support, etc. After giving them the practical help they need advocates share the most important truth with them, which is the Gospel. Both men and women from CBC have volunteered as counselors at the Embrace and you can too!
Union Rescue Mission
The Union Resuce Mission is a Gospel centered homeless shelter for men located here in Wichita. The purpose of this shelter is to not only give the homeless a place to stay, but Union Rescue Mission attempts to get men back on their feet by providing them with work and potential job opportunities. Various men from CBC have gone to the mission to preach the Word of God on a regular rotation. But don't worry, if you are not gifted in teaching you can still go along with the teachers because after the sermon is over the mission encourages us to have good Christ centered conversations with the men while they eat their dinner. If you want to get invovled you can visit their website below or contact George Haithcock for more details!
Love INC (In the Name of Christ) is a small local organization that helps meet practical needs in times of desperation. For example if someone were to call into CBC asking for money to pay for their rent instead of just giving them money directly we would direct them through Love INC. The reason we do this is because the sad reality is that many people only want money to buy more alchohal and more drugs, but Love INC has a database which can tell the difference between those who are really in need and those who are not which is why CBC supports this ministry financially each month!
We support international missions through The Master's Academy International (TMAI). Our support goes either directly to a TMAI ministry or individuals working directly with TMAI ministries.
The heartbeat of TMAI is to train church leaders around the world in their own countries. But this training is not an end in itself. It is merely the means of strengthening Christ's church. As leaders are trained to effectively preach God's Word and shepherd the church, believers are equipped to reach the world around them. Following in the example of 2 Timothy 2:2, TMAI is equipping leaders "who will be able to teach others also." What better way is there to advance the gospel?
